i’ve been trying to think of specific things to write about for a while but i’ve been coming up with nothing. but hey, this is my little blog/newsletter/public diary, i make the rules! so this is going to be a self-indulgent edition of the sam smart newsletter where i just update you all on what’s going on in my life. and as an apology for not writing that many, i’ll include multiple astrology lists. i’m assuming you all like them because i love them. i won’t stop making them even if you all hate them. xoxo
the updates:
i don’t think i wrote about this before but i got a consistent freelance writing gig at a tech publication, i’m doing headphone reviews and features again! hooray! i’m still looking for more writing work to be able to pay rent though so lmk if you have any leads… your girl needs money…
the weather in vancouver has been so good for the last little while. it hasn’t been too cold, there have been a few disconcertingly warm days, but all in all it has been good for my beloved walks alone and with friends.
i’ve been busier in general! which is nice! but also a little overwhelming. i started going out a lot more, going to more local events and such, seeing friends more, trying to read more, working more, all the rest. it’s been hard adjusting to so many changes at once but i think i’m happier when i’m busy. i do need to make sure i have more time to recharge though. i also feel like i don’t have enough time in the day to do everything i want to, but i’m trying my best.
i am currently sick for the first time in at least 4 years. it sucks! i tested negative for covid many times over the last week, so i’m hoping it’s a cold, and it does feel like a classic Sam Common Cold, but considering how unreliable rapid tests are i can’t really be sure. if you know me more personally you know i’ve been trying really really hard to avoid covid this whole pandemic because of some health conditions i have and my family members have, along with just caring about not killing and maiming others with a preventable disease, so it’s obviously bothersome that i got sick after successfully avoiding any respiratory illnesses for this long. this is as good a time as any to remind you all to 1. wear a mask 2. avoid high risk/superspreader type situations like indoor dining, clubs, etc and 3. care for your health and keep up to date on your vaccines. getting sick with anything during a pandemic can mean lost wages, long term complications, and inconveniencing a whole lot of people besides yourself.
i want to start exercising more seriously once i’m fully recovered. my ass has always been my best asset (ha ha ha) and i never really had to work much for it, but i think it could be better if i did squats more often. also i just want to be stronger in general. but mostly i want a better ass.
i have no money
